Melanie Salisbury

Melanie is thrilled to be teaching beginners ballet at The Debbie Reynolds Dance Studio on Saturday mornings. From the age of 11 she attended the Arts Educational Schools in Tring, Hertfordshire, England and London, England studying all types of dance drama and singing. She completed examinations up to Advanced in Ballet (Cecchetti Method and RAD - Royal Academy of Ballet,) and Jazz dance (ISTD - Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing,) at 11 and 12 years old, she appeared in The Nutcracker with the English National Ballet at the London Royal Festival Hall and the London Coliseum. Upon graduating she began a career performing in Musical Theatre appearing in Half a Sixpence, West Side Story, Trelawny of the Wells, The Apple Tree, Chicago, On the Town, Company, Ann Boleyn, traditional British pantomimes - Aladdin, Dick Whittington, Mother Goose and Summer Seasons at Holiday Camps.

To add to her teaching credentials, Melanie has choreographed two dance numbers for the play, Androcles and the Lion with the newly-formed Burbank Children’s Theatre Company and has been asked to choreograph “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown" for the same company, the show will be performed at the end of July.
